Medication
Horses, like humans, often dislike taking their medicine. But you can turn a difficult chore into a more pleasant experience, for both you and your horse, by mixing the medicine with Natural Plan Stomach Soother™. Its strong, sweet, fruity taste and inviting aroma, and its medium-thick consistency, camouflage even Butazolodine and certain oral antibiotics that horses frequently deem unpalatable.
As an added bonus Natural Plan Stomach Soother™ helps alleviate the side effects of some medications such as diarrhea caused by antibiotics and the erosion of the stomach lining caused by anti-inflammatory drugs if used for an extended period.
To administer pills:
- Dissolve them in a small amount of water in a mug and stir vigorously.
- For hard-to-dissolve pills, put them in a blender, along with the water.
- Add two ounces of Natural Plan Stomach Soother to the mug or blender and mix thoroughly.
- Suck up the concoction with a 60 cc plastic oral syringe (needle removed).
- Insert the syringe as far back into the horse’s mouth as you can reach.
- Depress the plunger.
- Hold the horse’s head up in the air for a few seconds to be sure he swallows the mixture.
For a paste medication:
- Either stir the paste into two ounces of Stomach Soother and administer as above.
- Or, dose with one ounce of Stomach Soother first, follow with the paste, and finish with another ounce of Stomach Soother.
Once your horse is used to the mix, you may be able to stir it into his regular feed.

"I picked up a bottle of Natural Plan Stomach Soother at a horse trial last fall. It stayed in our tack room as a pretty item all winter and then we had a horse come down with Lyme a couple weeks ago and needed to give him 120 Doxy tabs per day. We tried everything to get him to eat them and he would not. We finally dusted off the bottle of Natural Plan Stomach Soother and BINGO, he’s eating them up in a paste. I’m sure this isn’t the reason behind Natural Plan Stomach Soother, but wanted to let you know it works! I just ordered two bottles and will keep some in the barn all the time!
Thank you!"
